Monte Sano Mountain
Monte Sano (Spanish for "Mountain of Health") rises on Huntsville's east side to an elevation of 1,621 feet — about 1,000 feet above the valley floor. Monte Sano State Park offers extensive hiking and mountain biking trails, primitive camping, and regular public star parties hosted by the Von Braun Astronomical Society at their hilltop observatory.
